Open Office Hours

Camille holds open office hours three times a week to meet with students to work on their writing in her office in Crossett (located on the top floor in the former meditation room). Please ask your students or advisees to sign up for a session on Bennington.genbook.com, or to email her for an appointment, during these times:

  • Tuesdays 1-4pm; Wednesday 3-5pm; Fridays 1-3pm.

Peer Writing Tutors for Students

  • Peer Writing & Research Tutors are available Sundays-Thursdays 8:00-10:00 p.m.
  • Located on the third floor of Crossett Library in the far corner room to the left when you come up the stairs.
  • Students can sign up for a session (30 minutes) on Bennington.genbook.com

Undergraduate Writing Initiatives

Camille Guthrie, the Director of Undergraduate Writing Initiatives, is available to work with you during each term, as well as over summer and FWT breaks, to support any aspect of teaching writing in your classes. She can collaborate with you to develop practices and assignments that help students become more critical, effective, and confident writers. Here are some of the ways she can collaborate with you to support writing in your courses:

  1. Course Consultations:
    • Plan a new course, or update a previous one, with more writing activities
    • Create a new writing assignment (long or short)
    • Include a grammar or style handout in your assignments
    • Discuss new ways to integrate writing into your courses
    • Explore practices to support multi-lingual students and ELL skills
    • Learn ideas about how to respond to student writing more effectively
    • Discuss how to support students with learning differences or accommodations in your course

  2. Guest Lectures:
    • Camille can visit your class to give a brief writing or grammar workshop on a specific writing issue.
