Food Studies: Home

Food Studies is the transdisciplinary study of food, agriculture, and culture. The work bridges art, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and activism. Food studies approaches food as cultural and environmental and uses frameworks such as food systems and foodshed to conceptualize the way food cycles from farm to plate and back to the natural world. At Bennington College, food studies is community engaged, studied and practiced in partnership with local government, community organizations, farms, and food businesses.
