Since the College’s founding, alumni, faculty, and friends have contributed artworks to Bennington for multiple purposes. As a college that has never had an art museum, Bennington acts as a steward of these generous gifts, loaning works to exhibitions, using them as teaching resources, displaying works on campus, and auctioning works to benefit the College, all while honoring donor intentions.
These are works of art by Black artists available for viewing on campus. Most of the art is in public areas but some is in staff and faculty offices, in which case the name of the person is provided so one can arrange a time to view the work.
